We all (or a lot of us) have talked about the strong gasoline smells inside our garages after parking our bikes. Mine has done it since day one, mainly when the tank was below 1/2 full.
I read a post from someone saying that if you close your gas cap so it clicks 3 times, it solves the problem. Yeah, right.
Well before riding today, did just that. Came home with under a half of a tank of fuel, pulled into the garage and shut it down. Came out about 5 minutes later and there was no gas odor in the garage. Maybe it was a fluke but it was the first time the garage didn't smell of gas in a very long time. The fuel was Shell which I always run, so I can't say it was a fuel thing.
There is a new service bulletin out on an emissions recall on the fuel filler neck, but not for tourers. I'm sure that might have something to do with it on some other bikes as well where fumes are escaping.
