You should be able to negotiate a five-year for a few more bucks. I got a 7 year ext warranty and 3 year (unlimited mileage) scheduled maintenance package for $2000 when I bought my bike. I have 30k on my RG now, and the maintenance deal alone has paid for itself.
Thanks,
Kahuna

is it worth the 1149.00 for xtra 3 years of coverage on 06 sg ?
I bought mine back in 04 - as I was about to sign - the dealer tried to sell me on the tire/wheel coverage - in a weak moment I bought it - an extra $199. Had real buyer remorse the next day - wife said "get over it"... could have gone back to cancel - just put it off and life went on... that was 2/04 - last spring on highway 1 just north of Hearst Castle we hit something in the road the ruined the tire (wheel was fine) Road America had us picked up (5pm on a sunday) and took us to the closest HD - that would be open on Monday - two hours drive south to Santa Maria, CA.. to make a long story shorter - Harley Ext warr paid for the tire, mount and motel.... Let me tell you,,, that buyers remorse I had back in 2/04 was Gone... BTW - you can forget Cell service on highway 1 ...
you need to talk to a salesman, i check into the extended warrenty and was told the 3 year extended warrenty included the factory warrenty of 2 years plus one 1 year. the five year warrenty was actually for 3years plus the 2 year factory warrenty you have double coverage for the first 2 years.
Sounds like you are getting the standard two year plus 3 more years for a total of 5 years. That is what I got. Make sure you get the tire/wheel coverage. I already used mine saved me 238 dollars. Even if you dont use it. Its worth the peace of mind.

To me its cheap insurance. I bought the 5 yr extened for a total of 7 years. I also purchased the prepaid service to 10K and the tire and wheel coverage. I think I paid 2400.00 for all of it. I think it is just cheap piece of mind. I am already working 2 off duty shifts a month for the next 7 years so a little piece of mind goes a long way. Look at what the shops charge for Labor. The way I see it half of the my warranty price covers the prepaid services. On my Road King I had a relativley new tire less than 1500 miles and picked up a screw in the sidewall. My new tire and mounting was over 260.00.
