I love my RKC, like the apes on it, but in thinking over the cost of the rest of what I want to do to it, I can probably trade into a fugly and have the same payment, but make out with music, hard bags, and a 103 motor.
What's everyone's opinion on trading up into the new bike? I know most don't like the RG's but I did when I test rode it, I like the looks, and I don't feel as cramped as on the SG I rode with the fairing practically in my face.
To add hard bags to my bike is not cheap, tunes wouldn't be either, for less than the cost of those two things alone I think I could get into a new fugly with the payment being about the same.
What would that cost? Hadn't even thought of that.....
For a batwing to sharknose conversion it is about $1500. Since you would also need gauges and a radio it would be a bit more. I would say you could probably do it all for about $2200

I turned my 07 road king classic into a fugly for about 1600 including painting the outer fairing. would have been way more money and work if I wanted gauges so i just plugged the holes. That lasted one year and I stripped it back to a road king and traded it in on a new RGC. Dont waste your money on the conversion. Pony up and get a new Road Glide

Thanks for the feedback, that's useful info. Let me see in the next few days what the dealer will give me for my bike, a salesman on the phone said $16K, if that's it then I will be stuck with the king......
