Despite it being 79 degrees today and the bike being apart, I was able to pick up my parts from paint. I color matched the rear frame covers as well as the front fascia and the KW windshield. Also added some chrome windshield screws (from Ace hardware...those little bastards were expensive!)
Windshield will be ready tomorrow. Here's the rear and front:
looks nice. when I do my inner fairing I am going to do the rear covers, cowbells and headlight bezel, may even pick up a set of those frame heat deflectors and have those done.
Your bike looks great, Ive been planning to do my cowbells and front fascia as well in scarlet red and am I am just now getting to dropping them at the painter next week. I'm glad i got to see your bike and what it will look like ahead of time. Did you buy HD paint or do you have a PPG code by chance? Ive found the Colorite code online but no luck on PPG yet. Really anxious to see the KW windshield as well. I have a 6.5" coming today.
The painter is having trouble with painting the shield. He's not happy with it (it looked fine to me, but he's the expert) so he's repainting it. So, i wont have it back today. Hopefully tomorrow.
PPG code is 72095 for scarlet red.
I paid $200 for everything (paint included), out the door.
Damn, I may have to find a different painter. The one I've used before with great results quoted me $ 250 for just the cow bells and the front fascia.
Thanks by the way for the PPG code. How do you feel it matches up to the factory red? I'll have my painted inners close by when installed, so it will be easy to spot a shade difference.
Finally do you have any more pics of your bike? I'd like to check them out if so. I searched here and found a few here and there, but it would be great to see a few more... especially once you have your painted windshield on.

Yeah shop around and let your paint guy know you got a cheaper price somewhere else. My painter is a local body shop that just happens to do a lot of bike parts for individuals and the local HD/import dealerships. The first estimate i got was $300 PLUS the cost of paint from a guy who is a 'custom painter.'
I was a bit nervous of paint match at first, but it's flawless.
A friend of mine is a professional photographer. We're doing a shoot in April-May timeframe and I'm trying to get it published. I need time to get back from Daytona, clean the bike up, and add a few more parts before the shoot. I'll post them up in a thread when its done.
If you look in my 'garage' on my profile, there should be some pics up from a couple months ago.
