Well after snow the day after I bought my SG and lots of cold and rain since I got my first good ride in today.
I had been able to ride several times before today but was always for 25 to 50 miles. It got up to mid 50's today so I got to finish up my 500 mile break in with a 150 mile ride.
Love the bike so far but a good ride helped point out somethings that I will have to change sooner than I thought. Mainly the bars and seat which I have already ordered the seat. Got to take it on one of my favorite curvy roads and it handled very well. Was able to really get a good feel of how a day of riding would be even though it was only 150 miles.
Hopefully the weather will allow another 500 miles in the next couple weeks so I can do my 1k service before I head to Branson on it in a few weeks.
Wish I could say that. Mine is still in storage. It was in the 50's yesterday but streets still wet in too many places. Snow is melting away. Today the high was about 31. I expect to get her out close to the end of this month. By then, hopefully we will have had some rain and the nasty streets will look better.
Last year I took mine out of storage on March 17th,but it was a very early spring, about 3 weeks early.I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the same this year. But it doesn't feel like it tonight, going down to -10C.
Had mine out a couple of weeks ago it felt great. Hoping to get her out tomorrow because its going to suck next week when we take the cage down to Texas. Wish we could take the bike. It's just to early to count on good weather for the trip back.
Good that you got in some riding, got my SG the 4th of Nov and it took all winter to get 1K on it. If I thought it would do any good I would sacrifice a chicken or 2 for some warm sunny weather.
Upstate N.y still has lots of that white crap, looking like another 4-6 weeks before I get out.
Same here in northern Vermont. Last year my first ride was on St. Patty's day but that doesn't look like its going to happen this year. I can't wait until my house sells so I can head for Florida and leave this snow behind for good!
Hey bberck, as hot as your Dyna was, what do you think of the SG as far as comparing it to the Dyna goes? I have to say, from a former Dyna guy, I absolutely love my RK. It handles awesome and the comfort level and ride to me is so much better than my old LR. I will say that I miss the looks of my Dyna, but it just can't compare to the touring bike.

I pretty much feel the same way. Having the bags and a stereo are great. I loved my Dyna but this bike just fits my needs better.
