Very Nice! I added the Ultra light kit to my Classic tour pak this winter and didn't want the traditional HD plate either. Took the HD plate that came with the kit to the local sheet metal shop, for $4.00 they cut me a tin blank. Had the blank & the the light frame painted, figured I'll have my pinstriper letter it when I figure out what I want it to say! LOL! Kind'a liking the all black for now!

Another thing you might notice on my tour pak is the mount I made that eliminated those ugly hoops on the back of the bike. It now mounts where the sissy bar goes but keeps the tourpak in the original poition. I even made the rack that holding it on the wall.

I should start selling those too I guess. LOL

Where or how did you make the name plate? Very good idea to personalize your bike.

It helps having CNC equipment. I just took some 1/8" aluminum and machined it down leaving the letters higher. Then took it to my powdercoater and he coated it with wrinkle black to match the engine finish and then I took a orbital sander with 600-1500 grit papers and sanded off the tops of the letters. Then I just clear coated over it all lightly.

Hey Traceman, great job on the custom name plate!
I've been trying to find someone that could make a few of these for myself and a couple of my fellow American Legion Riders, any chance you'd be interested?
