MPG for a 2005 ultra ......
So im planning a long distance ride with my buddy this july and we are covering 12 states round trip. He told me his 05 with this 88ci and 5 speed only gets about 110 miles on a tank of fuel doing 70-80 mph. He has a 5 gallon tank. Does that seem right?

A lot of it will depend on what you are carrying on the bike or towing behind it. When I ride my 05 Ultra, solo, I usually get 46+ mpg(I very seldom ride 80). I find that the best mileage in running belo 70 mph. When two up, it will drop to 35-40 mpg, again depending on the speed and load. No two HD's get the same mpg, riding style has more to do with it than anything else. If I am towing the small trailer, then I have gotten as low as 25 mpg, but the bike and trailer were loaded and it was in the hills of Arkansas. All you can do in experiment, run one tank at 70-80 and then run one at 65 or below. Speed on long trips ain't all it's cracked up to be, I like the scenic routes and enjoy the ride and stay the hell of the interstates.

He needs a tune up! I have an 05 classic that has over 100 hp that i ride like i stole it and i go 130 miles before the light comes on
