Apes on a 2010 Limited?

I have heard I can go up to 10" without cable and wiring mods. on my throttle by wire Limited.
How much taller than stock is 10" ?

I have 11 inch Santee bars on my Limited. I mounted the bars in April of last year so the details are a little fuzzy but the answer to your question is probably 11. The wires will reach but it is a pain to fit all the wires plus the plugs from the heated grips inside the bars. I would suggest putting extensions on those wires and putting the plugs in the fairing. The brake line was a little short, to fix that I removed the last clip and bent it, that gave me enough line to reach.

I almost made my decision on my bars for the same reason. I wound up going with 12s and changing the cables. Very glad I did. I have never met anyone who said they wished they went shorter but have met lots that say they wished they had gone with taller bars. dealing with cables is not that hard and you will be glad you went with the taller bars. You won't need wiring extensions for 12s but I would get the SE TBW that puts the plug at the bottom. It makes it easier to pull wires. My 12s are a good 8" taller than the stock bars.
