It does something, i use to think it was for air flow, but just had my tank off and can see it will keep rain from going up into the electronics and wiring. t

It helps a little but isn't a cure. Every little bit helps and it's cheap and can't really even see it.

Does it negatively affect cooling? Looks like it's right in front of the front jug. I have a black one off my boss's old Road King and was wondering if I should put it on my Ultra which doesn't have one. I get zero buffeting and wind so I don't need it for that, but was thinking about the water issue Bagman1 mentioned.

I'm not in ZZTOP, but the beard is more than long (and grey) enough to definitely show a straight up draft that might otherwise go unnoticed.

I have had mine off and on my 2011 RGU several times to compare with and without and it definetly helps on mine. Every time I think that it does not do anything I pull it off only to realize it does help a bit.
