Instead of starting a new thread maybe someone will see this. Anyone know the part # for bullet turn signals for the front auxiliary bar? I would like to change out the pancake ones easily. thanks
That's not a bad idea....Tap into that and I'm cooking with gas.
The SG license plate light uses LED's so they are probably polarity sensitive. Before soldering or otherwise permanently attaching them to the fender tip light wiring, test the connections from the LED's; if it works the first time they're wired right, and, if not, simply reverse and they should work.
When I added the SG fender/fascia LED and turn signal light bar, I wired the fascia tri-bar light to the license plate LED wires because the OEM SG wiring used the tour pak harness for the fascia LED and I wanted to reserve the tour pak harness for the lights in the Ultra tour pak. At least in that application, there was no electrical issue connecting/splicing the two lights together. I used "probably" polarity sensitive because that was five years ago and don't recall if they were or not.

Ok, I took the SG turn signal wiring apart from the connector. Each turn signal has 3 wires? blue, black and purple. The original pancake signals have just black and purple.
Anyone know why there is 1 additional wire on the '10 SG turn signal bar and what I need to do to splice it together?
Also, what is the best way (other than cutting it) to get the turn signal wires out of the original connector without busting up the connector? I want to try and reuse it if I can. I am sure there is a release or something so the wires pull out cleanly?
I'm thinking that model year SG doesn't have the tail light like we do up here in Canada,so the extra wire is for the run or brake mode of operation. The pins can be removed from the connectors,it just takes a bit of effin around.
Does the lights that you are installing have a dual contact base.If they do,the blue wire is for the run mode of operation. You won't harm anything by not hooking it up.You just gotta install a dual filament bulb in the socket, only one filament will be lit.
