Default Handlebar mounted GPS units

Prior to getting the zumo 660 I was using a nuvi 755 with a nice chrome handlebar mount from http://www.motomount.net/ and had found a cable that hard wired to my battery. When I got the 660 I was elated to find the connections were the same, therefore all I had to do was set up the 660 and I was good to go. Last couple PGR missions I was on it rained most of the time. My 660 was at the time sent back for replacement and I just got the new one a couple days ago. Yesterday was a 70 degree sunny day so I was on the bike foe a few hours and wanted to see if all was good with the new unit. I programmed a route, took off and a short time later the unit died. I came back home, tried the 755 and same thing. Took my seat off and could see the LED lit for the cable so the problem was obvious, that the plug was corroded. I used a few sprays of electrical cleaner and was good to go. Just putting this out there for anyone else with a similar setup. In time when the connector is exposed to water from rain or washing this WILL happen.

Mounted my TomTom onto my Sporty's handlebars today. Ran wires down to the battery tender, where it's connected to a 12v outlet that has an SAE connection and plugs right into the battery tender cord. Can't wait for the rain to clear up so I can give her a test drive.
