Default Could Use Some Help... George Anderson TP Relocator

So I tried to mount my George Anderson (GA) TP Relocator today. I must be doing something wrong.

My fist question is... I'm assuming that the "flush/flat" side (side that comes with the "Made in the USA" sticker) of the George Anderson Relocator mates flush (faces down) to the H-D Quick Detatch bracket, and the "ridged side" of the GA Relocator faces up (towards the TP). Is that correct?

My next question is... The 4 OEM holes in the bottom of my Chopped TP that were used to mount straight to the H-D Quick Detatch bracket (per the TP instruction sheet) are the same ones to be utilized with the GA Relocator, correct? The GA instructions say nothing about drilling new holes in the TP.

Here's my problem... The 2 rear holes in my TP go through a "rasied ridge" in the bottom of my TP. The GA hardware supplied wont even extend through the TP, let alone thread into the GA adapter. The 2 forward holes in my TP do not go through a "raised ridge" in the TP, but through the "flat bottom" of the TP. The GA Hardware goes though this just fine... but the TP sits high in the rear (because of the "raised ridge" in the rear). The Stock set-up for the TP uses a metal adapter (approx 1/2")(per the TP instruction sheet) in the front to level the TP to the H-D Quick Release bracket. It appears that the metal OEM TP adapter needs to be re-used in the front with the GA Relocator (although George's instruction sheet has no mention of that OEM metal adapter at all?)... but the GA supplied hardware will not go though the OEM metal adapter to thread into the GA Relocator.

What am I missing here? Do i just need to buy longer hardware? Can't imagine George overlooking this issue and shipping with hardware that is too short. I also noticed that there are only 2 sets of holes to adjust the mounting location of the TP in the GA Relocator, but it's advertised (and the instructions say) that there are 3 adjustments available?

I know there are tons of GA Threads in the search. I read a couple, but nobody was talking about mounting issues.

Any help would be appreciated

Bump to the top for some help. I know there are a lot of these GA Relocators being used around here. Am I the only one that has experienced a problem getting it mounted?

On my FLHTCU it was a perfect fit. could the issue be with the quick detatch not being the same hole pattern. I would call George

The bottom of the Chopped Tour Pak is slightly different that the King Tour Pak.

I don't have the GA mount, just a regular HD mount. But I had to buy some different bolts when I went from mounting it on my 08 and mounting it on my 09..........and I did have to drill new holes for some reason.

What year bike?

I have the re-locator with a chopped on my '09. I remember I did have to purchase longer hardware, but I never drilled new holes. There is a spacer that came with the tp that needs to be used in the front two holes.

I have pics of this somewhere in a thread I made. Use my username in a search and you should find it.

Yeah Man, I seen one of your threads on this topic, but not the one with the pics. It seems like all I need to do is just buy new (longer) hardware and use the Moco metal adapter up front.

Thanks for the feedback Dudes!

I've got the George Anderson relocation kit on my chopped tour pak, and I just put some longer bolts through it, and it works great. Though I don't remember going through any ridge. Let me know if you still have problems, and I'll go uncover the beast and take a closer look. It's been a while since I installed it.

I appreciate the offer to go out and take a look. I'm pretty sure I just need to pick up some longer bolts. I'll probably get to that in the next couple days. Thanks for the feedback
