I haven't heard much about the Hogtunes tweeter pod lately. I was looking to upgrade my stereo on my Street glide, I am running the older J&M speakers with the single tweeter on the grill, am also using the Hogtunes amp.Was pretty much settled on the J&M 7.25s, but with all the argueing on here, not so sure. The volume is fine for me, but momma can't hear it when at highway speeds. The tweeter pod won't add bass obviously, but will the high position on the fairing help the sound travel back to her without blasting my ears? So many choices so little money. If you have an opinion let me know. Also would like to paint it to match black pearl inner, any price info on that would be awesome. Thanks, Jim
As far as pricing, Dr V Twin is often hard to beat. I have the tweeter pod and it really helps the audio level pierce through the highway speeds. Very easy to have painted to match also because of how the tweeters and chrome accent come off.
I have one on my streetglide, very easy install, very well designed. Looks good too, almost like it was installed factory. Definetly helpw with the volume. worth the bucks..now my 7.25's on the other hand.......
I have one on my EG and it works well primarily becaue of it's location IMO. Mine is also color-matched. Check with a local auto shop that has the PPG paint mixing station and computer to access PPG's intranet. The PPG intranet allows the shop to access the many, many paint formulas to match OEM paint using the PPG paints in the mixing station, including HD colors.
You can probably google your paint name and find the PPG codes, or do a search on HDF if you want that information.
Can't speak to the effect of the Hog Pod on the passenger.
The hog pod is one of the best stereo upgrades for dollars spent IMO. I really liked the look of the leather HD dash pad I had on my bike so, I had my hog pod covered in leather.
I have one, and it's ok, but not spectacular by any sense of the imagination though.
However I am contemplating a "painted inner fairing" and as such will now have to paint the tweeter pod too, another $100 bucks. If I had it to do over again, (and still might yet) it would "cooler" to drill a couple holes and put in your own tweeters which I'm sure could and has been done and save your $ for your painted inner fairing. JM2.
Thanks for the input, that's my concern, $190 for the Tweeter Pod then $150 to paint the pod to color match the inner I am at the cost for better fairing mounted speakers. I'll have to find somebody with the pods and take a listen. later.

That's really slick! I painted mine, along with the inner-fairing, but the leather treatment is a cut above that.
I've had my Pods installed now for two years and I like them. They put the highs and mids more on ear-level, and with my lousy hearing anything helps.

this does look good...how much was it to have it wrapped in leather....thx
