Default Problem - Help

First off, I should tell you This is a new to me bike that I bought in November. It was stored with stabil throughout the winter. It ran great up until today. I have had the bike out a number of times since winter with out any issues.

So today I took the bike out for a ride, and it kept stalling, I can keep it running if I give it throttle, but It will shut off with out. Not sure where to start looking for the problem.

Last time I rode the bike It ran great. Since my last ride I installed a Corbin seat, and a quick disconnect on the cross over hose on the tank. I pulled the seat to make sure I wasn't pinching anything, all looks good. Nothing looks out of sorts with the quick disconnect.

I also filled the tank before my ride. I filled it to the rim, could this be causing me a problem? Maybe I just got bad gas?

Thanks in advance for the help.

2006 had the injector issue. Check to see if they are the 8 degree or 25 degree injectors. A symptom of this issue was stalling in traffic.

I had a similar problem but it cleared up on its own. I filled my 07 FLHT STD all the way to the top which I had never done before. It stalled several times until I got out on the HWY. I'm not sure if that was the problem.

Thanks dawg! Looks like if this is my problem I can get a free fix.

Can I tell when my bike was mfg by the vin #? also, I am not having cold start problems. It didn't start acting up until I was 30 miles into my ride. Now that it cooled down I started it and had no problems, it idled fine.

When I was riding it was around 60 deg outside, and I had my soft lowers on, my oil temp Gauge was at 230 deg (not sure if that is excessive heat) when I was stalling. Could the engine temp cause the stalling? Probably got hotter then usual since I had the soft lowers on.

This was the problem I had with my 06, they changed the injectors from 8 to 25 and problem solved.

Check to see if you have any codes. Sounds like it could be the engine temp sensor also.

steelerdude that will happen everytime you fill it to the brim with the bike standing
stright up the gas will cover the vent tube and no air can get in the tank. If no air can get in no gas can get out. Try this fill it all the way up standing stright up. put the
gas cap on and start to ride you will not get very far until it starts missing and barley
running. Now take the gas cap off and it will run fine. you will have to run it about a
half mile with the cap loose until it will run again
