Default Stage 1

Hey guys,
I am in need of your opinions here. I own an '11 SG and so far have added Rinehart slip on's and the SE Stage 1 air filter and the factory download for the ECM. I know a lot of you don't like themdownload and that's fine but I have to tell you the bike has never ridden better. I don't have any dyno numbers or anything but the seat of the pants says that the bike feels like it has more power. Anyway I was at one of the dealers asking questions about removing the cat. The service guy there told me that the stage 1 download will support a new header should I choose to go that way. Can anyone confirm this for me? He said he was a a master tech so I am inclined to believe him but I've always assumed I'd have to get a real tuner to make this happen. Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated

I had Rinehart do my stage 1 in Sturgis last year. They installed the Rinahart 4' extreme duals (got rid of the cat), high flow air filter, and the Rinehart (RPM - Rinehart Performance Module)fuel manegement system. Made a big difference and the bike runs a lot cooler. I just took off the Rinehart RPM and went to a PCV since I'm about to install a SE-255 cam and I want Fuel Moto to map the PCV for me after the install. I have the Rinehart RPM for sale if you're interested.

I had the stock head pipe removed and replaced it with a V&H Pro Pipe on my 2010 Street Glide. I did a Stage 1 at the same time. I go to a dealer who I trust and he told me I needed the Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner to make this thing run right. So I paid about $1,400 for the whole package (Pro pipe, SERT, Stage 1 and dyno time). To me it was worth it to know there is no doubt about having the right equipment. I think I would have a doubt with just a download.

My $0.02

SE high-flow, factory download, American Custom mufflers, removed cat. Supreme happiness.

Odd thing is that where I really feel it is just "cruising" -- especially when you're not quite up to the gear -- 55-60 MPH in 6th always felt underpowered and sluggish - Now, it feels fine.

Maybe that's just because I never really cared about "quick" -- Maybe it really is quicker... Certainly feels like it has more "oomph" but I'm rather thrilled that I don't have to be smacking it around to feel the effects.
