good morning all, would like to hear from any height challenged rides. going to dealer today to deal on a 2010 fltrx custom left over. they're willing to deal, but I'm not sure if it's the right coice for me. I've sat on the bike and am ot flat footed. I've seen many who can't flat foot and they seem to be fine. All feedback appreciated.
thank you
David
I was not quite flat footed, I just installed a LA Choppers lowering kit. Now I am flat footed. The ride is about the same, I don't know what riding two up will be like though. Thicker sole boots will also help.
It is still the best riding and handling bike I have ever been on. Go for it.

I have a 2010 road glide and also challenged in height. There are several things you can do. A C&C seat will lower you. A set of new shocks like ricor that actualy sag when you set on the bike, plus the shocks are a huge improvement over the stock shocks. Lower the front when you have chrome lowers installed. Don't let the height thing stop you. There are several ways around it and replacing somethings are huge improvements over the stock set up.
I am 5'6" and a Short inseam - have had a FLHTCI since 04 - I tried the lower rear shocks and HATED them - made the bike ride like a buckboard - I have since had a custom Corbin seat made (ride in appoitment at Hollister Corbin) and I wear Redwing Boots - I am fine with the bike - As a short person - the main thing you have to realize - even if you feet reach the ground - your stance is narrow.. meaning IF the bike leans very much at all - its going over.... ask me how I know this, lol
i have a 2010 rgc. i am also short. 5'4'' on a good day, with a 29'' inseam. when i traded in the 07 road king, i took off my 11-1/2 inch progressive 440s with the intent of using them on this bike. but, the ride was so much better with the stock air shocks that i just left it alone.
the first thing i changed out was the seat. i have a danny gray speed cradle. i had originally thought about going with the buttcrack solo, but the girl at danny gray asked me a bunch of questions, listened to what i was looking for, and said the buttcrack would not be the right seat for me, and suggested the speed cradle. and she was right. it does sit you a little more forward than stock, so reaching the bars and the shifter/brake are easier, and it also sits you down lower. i wear my old army issue boots that have a little bit of a heel, and i am just about 3/4 inch from being able to flat foot. this is acceptable to me, i don't want to muck up anything by using lowering blocks, etc. plus, i have the 3/4'' soos floorboard extenders, so i don't want to lower the front forks and reduce my lean angle any further. i just make sure that when i park somewhere, i am not going to have to do any backing up, uphill. if the parking spot slopes up, i pull in so i can roll back out. and if it faces down, i back in so i can power out. be aware of your surroundings and you shouldn't have a problem.
