This last weekend we decided to do a weekend ride. We left with nice weather and rode in the rain pretty much the rest of the time. Still had a great trip. Im loving the street glide. Ive had it 2 weeks now just turned 600 miles so its time to order pipes. I think iv decided on the jackpot 2-1-2 and rinhart slip ons. Anyone have a video of this set up? Also I'm planning on just changing out stock air filter unstead of getting a breather set up because I ride in the rain alot. Do you think im making a mistake with that?
If it was me I woundn't skimp on the AC when spending that about of $$$ on the exhaust. You don't have to get an open element to get a high volume AC. I have the HD SE set up and have kept the stock football.
I have the SE Heavy Breather that comes with a rain sock. Being in the PGR I ride a lot in the rain and no problems. My 01 Road King is non EFI so if you were to go that route you will need an ECM calibration. Prior to that I had the SE Teardrop but like the looks of the Heavy much better.

The Ness Big Sucker is an excellent choice for a high flow air cleaner and you can retain the stock outer cover if you like the stock look. It is a quality piece that can be found for a reasonable price ( E-Bay? ) and takes less than an hour to install. Don't forget about ECM work when changing Air Cleaner configurations and filters.
Thanks for all the replys I guess I should have clarified. Im planning on getting everything through fuel moto programmer and all. Pipes pc v and a SE filter with keeping the stock cover. I dont care for the looks just keeps the rain off. My main question is there any gains having an exposed filter other than it looks cool? 400 of the 650 miles i have on the bike have been in pouring rain. Even Hit hail. Im about tired of this oregon weather.
I ride in the rain a lot. I have an open filter element, and just don't have any issues with it at all. There's no real advantage for not having a cover over the filter element, other than it's more compact, and I like the way it looks.
