Default Kendon trailer empty

For those of you who have one have you ever pulled it extended miles empty. I need to trailer my bike about 5 hrs away to drop it off. I cant ride it cause I need a way back home. Ive trailer a bike before with a kendon but never empty and on the freeway for 5 hrs. Ive towed smaller work trailers and they bounce around like crazy empty.

I pulled my Kendon empty back from Dallas to Little Rock, Arkansas which is over 300 miles with no issues at all. It makes a little noise on the residential street but no problems at all on the interstate. I could see how it might bonce around if you had to drive highway speeds on a rough road. The only issue I had at all was I couldn't see it behind my truck.

I went to pick up a fallen bikers bike one time about an hour away. Not a bit of problems.

When I run my Kendon empty, I reduce the air pressure in the trailer tires to about 50-70% of the max listed on the sidewall. This cuts down on the bouncing and the noise.

Don't forget to bring them back to operating pressure before you load up.

I have the Kendon double folding trailer and have no issues pulling it empty, just have to remember that it's behind me, have thought about attaching a flag to remind me.

+1

Shouldn't have any problems. Mine does a great job of hiding behind my truck with the bike on it. Guess I could always pick up a hitchhiker and have them stand waving their arms so I know something is back there.

Have towed and empty single position kendon from New Hampshire to CT several times and highway is no problem side roads it bounces some but never a problem. Lowering tire pressure does help.
