Default New Handlebars

To all my RK brothers and sisters, I have an '05 RK Classic. I'm looking at possibly changing out my stock handlebars. The stock bars make me lean a little forward. I'm looking for some help in whats a good comfortable handlebar that I sit more straight. I'm average height 5'10". Great forum, lots of good info. Thanks to all that respond.

Have you tried to adjust them futher back? Sometimes that's all that is needed. Just a thought. Also do you have a drivers backrest, it does make a big difference as well?

Take a look at 0508 Chubby Bars. Here is a link where you can "arrow over the picture" of the guy on the RK to see the difference. http://www.wild1inc.com/rkvsstock.html Mine made a huge difference for me.

This is a very common upgrade to the RK.

Some popular solutions are:

1. Re-adjust the stock bars down slightly.
2. Buy and install HD Road King High bars.
3. Buy and install HD Road King Reduced Reach bars.
4. Buy and install HD Heritage Classic bars on your RK.
5. Aftermarket choices are out there. More popular ones are Wild1 Chubby W0508 and W0518 bars - these may require the use of extenders for wiring and brake lines, though.

I got a rider back rest and now the bars no longer bother me. YMMV.

Good luck.

I have the 518's, I'm 6' tall. Very happy with them.

I put the RK Custom bars on my RK Classic and really enjoy them. Sit on a Custom and see what you think. You will only need to change the brake line to make it work.

Try rotating them before going to the trouble of changing. Makes a big (verey big) difference.
