I done all of the removing and installing after it was painted. The local painter I use builds custom street rods and muscle cars for a living and is damn good. I don't ask no questions when it comes to what he charges but that included everything paint, primer, sanding, etc. He is one of those people who takes a lot of pride in his work and also hates people who rip others off. He painted a FatBoy for me a few years ago with one bad *** candy flame paint job and charged me $900 everybody else wanted over 2 grand.
Alright guys I'm sitting around after getting some teeth pulled and this idea came to mind. Every time i go to my local Stealer I end up spending at least a hundred bucks. So this goes out to find the best cheap parts for your bike. I'm not talking so much like the garage door opener mods in the DIY thread. Just nice parts that set a bike off or make something better. I look forward to seeing what you guys have cooked up and well its time for another vicodin and I'm off.
Check EBay and AliExpress. Both have a lot of cheap accessories. As an example 90 degree, CNC aluminum, motorcycle valve stems the dealer sells at $30 a set are $3 a set direct from China. In many cases they are the same part. They make checking the front tire pressure a lot easier on bikes with dual brake rotors. Remember to mount so they point out to the right so you can easily access them with bike on side stand. They are available in pretty much any color or just clear coat metal.
I have a $100.00 HD gift card and there isn't much I could buy that I wouldn't have to add money to barring clothing for my wife. Tried to do that last weekend and she could not find anything in spite of the fact that it was cool and she could have used a sweater or something like one.
