I ordered the Security System on my 2011 SG but I didn't order the Package (Sec & ABS) was told by the Dealer this was no problem and they could install the module from the SG Trike.
Today I went in to do the final signing of paperwork and at that time the Salesman tells me there is a recall on the Security system and would install at a latter date when Module is fixed.
Harley-Davidson recalls Softails with security systems
Harley-Davidson is recalling certain 2011 Softail models manufactured from June 7, 2010, through Oct. 8 that have had had a security system kit installed as an accessory. The potential number of units affected is 6,964.
The body control modules (BCMs) involved are part numbers 69991-11 and 69993-11. The BCMs have a case that may not have been properly sealed during production. An improper seal may allow water to get into the BCM, which may cause the engine to stall.
Harley-Davidson will notify owners, and dealers will replace the BCM for free. The recall is expected to begin on or about Feb. 21. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson at 414-343-4056.
Called the dealer this morning for more info.
Anyone that installed a security system BCM on a 2011 SG, there security system is not working properly because the 2011 pin system is not exactly match the previous system.
That said anyone who got the Security PKG are OK.
This is only for people who installed the security system only at the dealer. A replacement will be available shortly.
Must only be a Canadian thing. The only security issue on 2011's was M1291 bulletin on disarming FLSTE2 with PIN as there was an issue and then M1294A softail BSCM recall. Absolutely nothing on touring bikes and security systems. Still think they're pulling your leg.
