When I joined the forum nearly a year ago, my goal was to find out the straight dope on HD touring bikes as I was planning to replace my aging ride. I have been riding a 2007 Kawasaki 1600 Nomad since buying it new. Two weeks ago, I went down and it looks like my Nomad will be totaled by my insurance company. Fortunately, my injuries were mostly superficial and my road rash is almost completely healed.
However, there may be a silver lining to my cloud of misfortune. This is my opportunity to buy a new Harley. I am considering a 2011 EG Classic or UCEG. Any thoughts, advice, etc?
got an 06 EGC LOVE IT! wish i had the 6spd and the 103" though, hmmm oh well in due time.... sorry to hear about your misfortune that has in a bad way been turned around to get you what you want... well atleast another jap bike is in the grave...just kidding buddy... what i would do if i were you is go do demo rides at your local stealer...
Thanks - fortunately, this is AZ Bike Week and I plan on going to Cyclefest and test ride some bikes later this week. I have ridden an EGC before, BTW.
cool man! i didnt roll with the ultra bc i didnt really need the lower fairing or the speakers in the rear and the other crap it comes with, plus my goal is to tear mine down to a SG and have best of both worlds for cheaper
My Mistress is a 2011 Ultra for ME it is purrfect. It has its issues, but all bikes have issues. Test ride them all, then choose the ONE that is purrfect for you. Riding style, comfort, and toys that you want always works best. Enjoy and ride safe.
I bought my first Harley last fall. Had 30+ bikes before, but no Harley. I bought a 2010 Electra Glide Classic. Have only put about 1000 miles on so far due to winter. So far I am very happy, we will see this summer when I take some 2000+ mile trips. Last bikes were Yamahas, 2007 Venture and a 2008 Stratoliner, they were of course built proof.
