After much research on this forum I have finally decided how to proceed with the Air Cleaner protion of my stage 1. I have a SE Backplate and I plan to use the K&N replacement filter. I did not want to buy the full HD stage one kit knowing that I would not be using the filter supplied and incurring additional cost. My problem is that the backplate does not come with the hardware and I have not been able to find a part number for the hardware.
Do any of you know what the P/N is and if the attaching hardware can be purchased separately.
I told the parts guy at my local dealer what my plan was and I think perhaps he should have informed me that the hardware was not included, but that is water under the bridge.
Don't know if you can buy the hardware separate?? Have you installed the Backing Plate or bought the K&N filter? If not, and you can't find the hardware, I would take the backing plate back for a refund and buy a Arlen Ness Big Sucker A/F kit. It's only 107.95 and free shipping when I bought mine. It comes with an oilable Filter looks just like K&N's. Plus you don't have to remove the throttle body bracket to install. JMO
