Ordered a vest 2 weeks ago. Tried to get in touch with them with constant e-mails....not a single reply. They charged my card, but Status just shows "on order from HD". For the $20 I'm saving, I could just go to a dealer and get it tomorrow.
Surdyke...that's another story....will NEVER order from them again.
Looks like Zanotti's will get all my internet business from now on.
With the economy the way it is right now, you'd think they would want your business.
Just had to vent.
I hear they were short handed. Might explain it. I did some ordering there a couple years ago but not anymore. I deal with Zan's. Great service and great communication. Thing is they let you know whats going on and if they have to special order something they let you know pretty quick. JMHO
Search on Chicago HD. Lots of complaints about their online business.
I'll never order from them again.
My last order took 3 1/2 months to ship. And of course, you pay (they charge your card) at the time you place the order.
The quickest I've ever gotten anything from them was 3 weeks.
As Geoff mentions, there are plenty of "complaint" threads about them.
I deal with Zan. and Chi. HD. The wait from Chi. is always a few weeks. Zans is a little quicker, but it depends on what you order as well. If it is a new and popular item, it takes a while for them to get it from HD.
I have had to cancel my last 2 orders from Chicago Harley. I won't ever use them again. It's kind of sad because a few years ago they were really good and quick.
Took almost 5 months to get a set of painted lowers from Chicago HD. I called after 3 months and was told that my order was just placed due to a computer problem...funny they had no computer problems running my credit card. This was my 1st and last order from this retailer.

That's exactly what happened when I ordered from them also, it took about 10wks to get my order and their computer was the problem. I actually bought the items 7wks or so before Christmas and called them about 4 weeks later and was assured that I would have the items the next week (as I had purchased them for a Christmas present) but needless to say it was like the second week of Jan.
Just curious, did your computer problem happen around Nov/Dec?

Yeah, I got the "computer glitch" excuse twice when I called them.
Same order, 3 weeks between calls. Same story both times, something wasn't entered into the computer right.
I believe they are/were having cash flow issues.
HD won't release parts to them until they pay their bill.
They can't pay the bill until they get a bunch of new orders.

My last order was around Christmas. Ordered in Plenty of time for Christmas and had to cancel a week before because it still hadn't been ordered.
Like others they had no issue in billing my credit card.
