Default Probably a stupid question....

But has anybody ever put a clear coat over their black denim paint? I am sure that it will give it a little shine... but in my head I would think that it might actually look nice. And it would make it easier to maintain I would think.

It would make it gloss or a semi gloss depending on the clear coat that is used.
It would no longer be denim.

If you use gloss clear over flat paint, it becomes gloss paint.

You can do flat clear....... but then you have....... denim.

It has clear on it already, it's just flat.

I could be wrong.... but I don't believe it has a clear on it. If it did you would be able to wax it like you do a normal paint, but instead they suggest you use the denim cleaner or a non amonia base windex.

I found this link explaining the Denim finish, along with the service bulletin on it.

Doesn't a little shine defeat the purpose of denim?

I suppose maybe it does.... but it sure wouldn't be anywhere close to a vivid black. Just trying to think of something that would be a little bit different.
