Default Help Key Fob trouble

Trying to start 06 RK after rebuild. I think I have a problem with the Key Fob. everything boots up when I turn on the ign. but nothing when I hit the starter button with the run switch on run. I have the fob right there with the bike. When I got the bike used the guy told me keep the fob with you or the bike wont start. That's all the info I got. what is the procedure to turn the security system off with the Fob? It does seem to work I can make the signals blink if I push it twice but there is a red key light that is on in the dash to the right of the odometer.

I had the battery for about two weeks until yesterday repainting the tank. I have had the battery disconnected before and had no trouble restarting. But like I said I have the tank off and dissembled for painting this time.

dont know much about the key fob except i think you can pretty much do everything but start the bike... sounds to me like maybe when you pulled the tank off you might have over looked a wire or pinched one puttin it back on.... good luck buddy, try and go back through your steps for putting it back on... i wouldnt think there would be batteries in the fob itself...but then again i dont know about the fobs too much except they are a pain in the rear...

Is the tank off the bike now? I thought I read somewhere that if the speedo is disconnected, the bike won't start ??

I have not had issues with mine.... yet. LOL
You might try resetting the fob by taking out the fob battery and putting it back in. If the fob battery has not been replaced recently my guess it just needs replaced. I carry a spare just in case. There is a code you can type in with the turn signal buttons also to start the bike. But you have to have the pin code.

default pin code, if no one ever changed it is 1-2-3-4-5
Hold both turn signals in until the speedo shows five digits(3 seconds or so) right turn signal advances the numbers, the left signal advances the position....hope that helps....

I have been trying to get the pin code to come up with no luck. There is no response when I try the sequence with the turn signals to bring it up.

Would someone please tell me what the procedure is, with the fob to turn on the security and turn it off. Is there such a option with the proximity fob. I am not talking about the pin code, I mean with the fob it self and the button on it.

If I hold down the button on the fob with the ign off a slow blinking red key shaped light appears on the rt side of the odometer. If I push the button twice the key light will turn off. through all this the turn signals blink and and turn indicators on the dash blink. so it seems the fob is working to dome degree. When I turn the ign on the red key light comes on after about 3 -5 sec and stays on and like I said the starter does not actuate.
