I was leaving for work at 0530 and burned a CD to listen to on the way to work. Next thing I Know I have the Weather Band going. None of the radio controls work, no volume. I get to the station, turn off the bike then turn on the ignition switch and everything works fine. Is this the start of the radio going?????
Jeff
Mine does the same thing. Turn it off before the bike and when you turn the bike on the radio comes on but is frozen. turn off the radio and back on it works fine until next time. Didn't have any problems until installed 8.9 I installed 8.11 and now when the radio comes on by itself you can hit the mode button and it will change modes but no volume until you turn off-turn on.
I am pretty sure when I had my bike in for the 1000 mile service I made sure the 8.9 version was installed. I will be in class for the next 11/2 weeks so I will be on the Ultra a bunch, I think I will be close to my next service and have them upgrade then.
Thanks
Jeff
Make sure that your Weather Band ALERT is turned off as well......
Version 8.11 doesn't do anything for the CD/MP3 issue......
Glad you brought that up. I'm not near the bike or the owners manual right now, but I remember reading something about it. Your post reminded me that I don't have access to the WB alert. Is that something that only comes with one of the options (CB, etc)?

WB is programmed to all the radios.....
Go to MODE, and cycle through to WB, then you will see if the ALERT is on or off (On is a black square, off is "Normal Text").....

It took a while to get to the manual and check, but my radio doesn't show any function for the softkeys in WB mode. I pressed them all while in WB and nothing changed. If this is a feature on all radios--not just those with an optional module--I guess there's something wrong with the radio.
