Check top of page for Site sponser EASTERN PERFORMANCE CYCLES I paid 113.00 with free shipping, this kit is much better than the harley SE one, ness comes with K&N filter, se does not, se has crappy rubber hoses, ness is designed better with all steel parts.

I used flat black grill paint on the backplate. Used the grill paint for the heat resistance. Looks great against all the black and chrome.

As for your original question, I think the #2 is for bikes with engine builds. #1 will be fine for a stage one bike.

Just put a Big Sucker on my 06 Eglide a week or so ago and it is much better than the SE kit. $119 shipped with chrome backplate from Eastern Performance via e-bay.

Al, I recently got one and I like it. And yes the stock cover works...
Reminder, you may now need to reprogram ECU, with a Power Commander or other available options...

I got the stage II and really like it. I got the stage II because as far as I'm concerned, the more air the better, and with the DFO I can tweak the injection however I want it. The name "big sucker" is accurate, too--you can really hear it pull the air in under hard acceleration. By the way, the OEM cover will NOT work on stage II. You have to get the 8" one. (It's not installed in my sig picture, but the ness grooved cover looks good with the cylinder fins.)
