i'm wondering about running a pair of boom speakers along with my existing hog tunes tweeter pod. will it work or do i need to remove the tweeter pod and replace it with the dash pad to conceal the holes drilled for the mounting of the tweeter pod?
I highly recommend Doing the amp at the same time. The amp will make a huge difference. It's hard to find speakers alone that sound significantly better without extra power. "Do the amp too"
If your sticking with the stock head unit, check out the polks, great speaker! And Definently kick the snot out of "motorcycle" specific speakers. Plus if you add a amp latter on, they will Definently like the added juice!

Finally got a chance to listen to my new J&M's w/amp... I heard them when first installed but the CD used sounds weak in my truck so was weaker on the bike. Played a better CD yesterday and I'm more than happy with them! The real test comes when riding but I know I will be happy as I was sorta OK with the stock speakers (sorta, lol)...
Any opinions on Rockford Fosgate speakers? I found some good deals on RF speakers on ebay. They are the same ones that are sold on the Bagger Nation website, just cheaper
I went with Hawg Wired. Not cheap but a very nice product.
I went with Hawq Wired. Very happy with the Amplifier, speakers not so much. No distortion at all, but really bright midrange and not so high highs, and the bass is nonexistent.

I agree with you. I have the HW Double Shot. If it wasn't for the lack of bass. I was told their 6.5 speakers are a big improvement. I need to replace my deck, and I want to add speakers to my lowers.
We have been in the motorcycle audio business for 34 years and have had a new Ultra every year since 1989 (our new 2011 RoadGlide Ultra is the best one yet in my opinion) ,,,,
these are THE best performing speakers we have ever offered for the Harley Bagger application ,,,,, we will put them up against any other speaker available in the marketplace today ,,,
