Default Quick Disconnect Kits...

Damnnnnnn...have to remortgage my house to buy everything!

Do we not have any other options, next to manually removing and installing each time? Anything more affordable that works?

Chit part is, when all said and done, tour pack removed, then you can't stand the look of the sofa, so out comes the cc for another couple hundred $ seat.

i assume you are on here askin bout it because you dont know how to do it?? or just one of them fellers like me that knows damn well how to build somethin but just to lazy to do it...lol ok i feel better now that i have been a smart azz today...

ok check this out if you wanna build one....

see if you can get your hands on a detachable backrest (passenger) and trace out the mounts from it onto some card board and then put em in place where they would go and then begin to take more card board makin a mock up of support for your tour pack

once done making mock up and cutting holes and so on... get ya some metal and trace out your mock up onto the metal and just use a cut off wheel and get it welded and then chromed or powder coated

go to harley or indy shop to by the detach hardware... mount hardware and then mounth the rack support to the tour pack and call it a day!!

i ride an EGC and in the process of doing this but work keeps calling me away

Yes, go get your cardboard & make your own. I'm sure you'll show that MOCO a thing or two. Just go buy what you want/need & get it over with. After you spend who knows how much time & money making your own & you still don't have anything that works or looks good. . Not everyone out there are in the metal fab business.

I bought a cheapy tourpak for my Roadking for $50 and a used quick disconnect bracket to mount it to the bike. In order to mate the two together I made a drawing of a bracket and gave that to my Indy who had his machine shop guy fabricate it for me out of stainless steel. It cost me $65. The used quick disconnect bracket came with docking points that were broken so I cobbled up my own out of parts from Ace Hardware. I painted the tourpak to match my scooter and polished up the stainless steel to make it shine. Total cost for this project was about $300.

So now I have a one of a kind tourpak and quick disconnect mount for my bike.

I'm not a sheet metal guy and I can't nail two things together and expect them to stay that way. I'm a geek and so far, nothing on my scooter has an IP address. I forked out the cash for the quick detach kit and can install/remove my TP in seconds. I knew when I bought a Harley that making it exactly the way I wanted it would cost me and I'd just ride and not sweat it.

I guess the answer to my Q is: "No, there are no other options for quick detach kits."

Several have mentioned building my own. Even though i might not fall into the geek category, and i do love to wrench, but i simply don't have the equipment to fab with, not to mention the time.

Surprising that a vendor hasn't jumped on this project.

Hell, i can't even figure out all the parts i need to order for my 08' even if i could afford the damn thing...lol You need this kit...oh, and that part...and of course don't forget ....etc...lol
