All hardware is the same and Hard bags from all of the touring models are the same. Just loosen the bolt that holds the nutplate brackets for the qiuck release fasteners(pins) and adjust the brackets to fit, then torque them back down. Than's it. Nothing more.
I did the swap also. Bought the bags from KT.
All I had to do was remove 2 spacers on the rear pin hardware. Can't remember if the spacers came with my bike or if it was installed when I put the detachable backrest on. Love the bags. Bought some locks keyed to my bike from Harley. Used the same hardware, just rotated them to fit.

I second what oldfart just said and Kenny is the man for getting the bags. As others have said, all you need to do is just lossen the 7/16 bolts that hold the mounts in place, sit the bags on the lower support, align the mounts into position, attach the quick release pins and tighten down the bolts. I can say it's one of the best things I have done to the bike. I still have my leather bags but I have yet to put them on ever since installing the hard bags.
Perhaps I have missed this in the past? Kenny, this would seem to indicate that you have sold numerous sets of bags in the past , and potentially would be a good source for them?
Yes, I have 3 opps now 2 sets for sale. My boss's dad is retired & to keep busy he converts HD's to trikes. I have bags & just about anything else that is on the back 1/2 of the bikes for sale.
Kenny
PS
I also have a set of leather bags off a rk for sale.
