I have an Elec Glide Class, that I put a set of Elite 3's on last year. The back has 5000 miles on it and I ran over a nail ughhhh....anyway, I pulled it out and put a plug in it, and have been riding it around for about a month and it seems to be doing fine.....
Is this a problem??? All I can see that would really happen is possibly leaking down....

You can go to Dunlop's website and read their procedure for repairing a puncture which is to use a patch on the inside of the tire; not a plug.
And you may get replies (or use the search function where the subject of plugs is discussed with replies) from users of plugs reporting no problems.
Me, I'm very cautious about safety issues so I'd either repair the puncture the way Dunlop, the manufacturer recommends, or, more likely, get a new tire and spend $150 a bit earlier than I'd plan to. Yeah, you'll lose ~5K miles on the rear tire if you replace it, but like the previous reply said, I don't want a flat tire running in traffic on an interstate at 70 mph, or get stranded somewhere needing a tow to get home.

When it comes to belts and tires, any time there is damage, I don't 100% trust a patch job. Things can get really bad down the road. To me, a patch job just gets me going again until I can hit a dealer or an indy and get an item replaced. Others will argue this...until they have patch work fall apart when doing 75 on the interstate.

I've ridden many miles on tires with plugs (that I've done myself) even though it isn't recommended.
The biggest question is how fast do you ride? If you usually putt around near 50-60 mph and slower I'd ride that baby until it's worn out without giving it a second thought.
If you ride much faster then consider a new tire - although I've ridden 80 and 90 mph with a plug.

Had a metzler with 500 miles on it pick up a screw. My indy put a patch on the inside and went 10K miles without a problem. Have done patches to two tires and no problems. Patch was right in the middle/center and not on the sides or sidewall though
