I wouldnt be too concerned yet either. Pushing down on the bike isnt going to give you a real world idea of the ricors. I havent got them on my bike yet but plan to soon but on the site they claim the valve is smart enough to know if the chassis or wheel is trying to move. The idea of the system is to maintain a steady chassis which should result in a smoother ride. I'll bet you'll be all smiles when ya riding from all the reviews I've read. Please come back and let us know what you think of them as I'd like to know before I go down that path too.

Yes, but that means NOTHING!! Stop over-thinking and wait until you ride. If you have ANY experience with stock HD front ends, you'll be happy.

Yeah, I don't know about your mechanic, but when I "push down" on the forks of my 900 pound touring bike it does nothing.... stiff.
Now if I rock the bike back and forth, sure... some movement. Definitely not "soft".

Tell him it's not a dirt bike and to get those bars on. Dudes got to ride...

Ricors made my front end ride like butter. So worth it. The smoothest ride I have ever had from my bike.

They make a huge difference in the front end. You may want to play with fluid level a bit, but I think you'll like them.

I agree, huge improvement but Brian was way off on fluid level, instructions stated 16 oz. per fork, I think I ended up with 10 oz.

I went with 10.8, and will probably back it down to 10 oz. when I change fluid next.

isn't it supposed to be 6 oz in each fork?

what do you mean by play with the fluid levels- shouldn't he just go by what Ricor suggests?

More fluid = firmer ride. You can tune the forks using fluid level, but 6 oz. is not going to be enough. I don't recall what the directions said to use, Brian gave me a measurement from the top of the tube to use (I think it was 6" but I'd have to check my notes).

No, the air space in the fork acts like an air bag. More oil=less air space(stiffer). Air can be compressed easier than oil. More air space = softer ride.
