Default Fuel Filter

Thought everybody might like to see what a fuel filter looks like from an '09 Street Glide after 26,500 miles. It's supposed to be changed at 25K but I just now got around to it. I was a bit surprised considering that I always use the best gas offered at the pump. I guess it doesn't matter how much it costs when you're talking about particulate matter in the fuel. So, for those of you who are past the 25K mark and still haven't gotten around to changing this puppy out, you might want to reconsider before you find yourself on the side of a dark, lonely road.

Thanks, gives me a view of why I'll change mine on my upcoming service.

It looks like mine did as well after 25k miles. I keep a spare filter with me when I travel now.

It's so much easier on the new bikes, there's no sense in not doing it regularly.

Any advice on changing one on a '07 Ultra? I'll do a search and see how it is done.

I just did my 07 Street Glide yesterday. There is a good write on an 05 Ultra that is exactly the same as the 07s. It's a bit of a PITA but doesn't take too long. Just be careful finessing the fuel pump and float out of the tank. Note the assembly is hinged and you need to snap the hinge out when reinstalling the assembly. It took me a while to figure this out.

In the fuel tank. Do you have a manual? You really need the manual.

Changed the fuel filter on My 08UC at 30k, and it was nasty. Think I'll change it every 15K now.

I think I'll do mine every 20k miles. Hopefully it's not a difficult job.....
