Default K&N Filter

Has anyone tried the K&N Filter on their 96 CI and does it peform better than the Stage I Air Cleaner from the HD Parts Store?

I was just looking at that as well for my FLHX and going to post. I'd also be interested to know if it needs to be re-mapped with the S.E. race tuner??

I put a K&N filter on my Ultra and have had
no problems. I installed XIED's prior to that
and could tell that more fuel was added so the
extra flow through the filter was welcome.

I just installed the SE Stage 1 on Saturday. I have always used K&N filters on all of my bikes in the past with very good results. I did not want to use the paper SE filter so I bought the SE backplate and all of the attaching hardware and then bought the K&N replacement filter. I canned the box so I do not have the P/N, but I can say that it is not listed on the K&N website and it is not the same as the the one for the '08 and '09s. I asked the parts guy at my dealer and he had had a similar request earlier and knew what the P/N was and ordered it for me. About $70 plus tax. I don't know if it performs any better, but I do know I will never have to buy another one for my UC.

Default K&N Filter

I put a K&N high flow filter on my 08 Ultra as part of a stage 1 build. I had to modify the right side lower gloove box. I turned it into a air collector box. It provides protection from road crap but funnels the air into the filter. I did this in conjunction with the addition of Rinehart Tru-Duals. I saw a substantial improvement.
