Ricor Intiminators...??
I'm going to put a set of these in my forks shortly and have a couple questions for those that have them:
1) Would putting in Progressive standard height springs be a worthwhile upgrade while I'm in there or not enough bang for the buck, over stock?
2) When you order these from Ricor, do they ship you the Amsoil 5 wt oil as well?
Thx in advance

I have a 2011 RKC. Just bought a set of INTIMIDATORS for my front, and a set of RICOR shocks for the rear. Will be putting them on next week. I have spent hours researching this topic and will save you a lot of time and worry. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting a set of RICOR shocks for the rear. Below is the website. Call them and talk to Brian. It takes about two weeks to get them. They will tune the shocks according to your weight. DO NOT MIX BRANDS of shocks (in my opinion)....The INTIMADATORS and rear shocks are a "matched set". You've gone this far....don't skimp!! Have fun and ride safe.

1) stock springs are progressively wound springs, not the name brand Progressive, but the same manufacturing process. You didn't mention your year/model but 09 and later stock springs are 33% stiffer than pre 09s. I have gone through 3 sets of springs with my intiminators, and several combinations of shims, and valve port modification. The best results I have gotten were with single rate linear wound springs, matched to my weight and aplication as recommended by Race Tech (not specicifically promoting the brand, just happens to be what I used). My results would suggest that stock or progressive wound springs will not yield the best results, contrary to whar Ricor and many customers say. Many have reported good results from running progressives, but I didn't see a valid comparison to their intiminators with other springs. The intiminators will make anything feel fantastic compared to without, so most never bother messing with them any further. They can be tuned to near perfection if you have the time and patience to swap springs and shims. It all depends on you really; if you are a non-mechanical, fire and forget instant gratification type like most the Ricor customers, then just get the Intiminators, drop 'em in with your stock springs, and proceed to tell the world how perfect your front end is with just Intiminators. If you truely want your front end tuned, get the weight matched single rate springs, order a shim kit and disassembly tool and play with them.
2) You can order the Amsoil from Ricor when you order the Intiminators.
I'm running Ohlins on the back, my front and rear suspension is synched very well.
I've been running Intiminators since they were first released, and I have done extensive tuning to achieve an excellent performing front end.

I already had the Progressive standard height springs when I added the Intiminators last year so I don't know what it would be like without them. They did almost eliminate dive compared to stock. Although Brian at Ricor says the springs are not necessary, they certainly do not hurt. IMO, they make a great combo.
They 5wt oil is not included in the price of the Intiminators.
CCritic, maybe you need more preload??
You likely have the "new", softer shim configuration in the Intiminators; 2 ea. .012 and 2 ea. .015 shims. Change your shim pack to 3 ea. .015 shims, and that brake dive will be significantly reduced.
Just drop in the Intiminators, replace the stock springs and forget about it.
