My bike is close to 15K miles. I am not the first owner, but I believe the original owner put the Avons on fairly soon after he bought the bike. I have put about 7K miles on the bike. I do wear leather gloves and in the summer I'll wear padded weight-lifter gloves (fingerless). I have noticed some slight wear on the Avons, but not too much. They are very comfortable grips and they grip well. I usually ride around 90 - 190 miles on a typical ride. No problem with numbness or tingling in the hands. But, I do make use of the cruise control which really helps.

I installed the custom contour chrome grips well over a year ago and have put over ten thousand miles on them and they still look like new and have held up well. I really like the hard grip with the renthal replacable sleeve. IMHO great value.

I installed a set of Avon air cushion grips on my FLHT about 3 weeks ago. I didn't secure the clutch cable housing enough as when I came out to the bike a few hours later I noticed the clutch cable tension pushed my grip down about 1". This left my left grip tight but with the last 1" of it flexing off the bars . I emailed Avon and had (2) new tape wraps at my house 4 days later. Installed (and secured) now and they are great. Grippy, absorb vibration and look nice. Great grips !!

I purchased a set of the Avon Air Cushioned grips while we were in Texas last fall and put them on over the winter. I have about 1000 miles on them and have been please so far with them as far as grip and comfort. The only downside is I miss my throttle boss. I had the standard grips with a generic throttle boss and loved it. I was told that Avon was coming out with a throttle boss for this particular grip but have not seen one yet. I went to their website and it appears that the heated grip comes with a throttle boss but cant seem to find where it can be purchased seperately. Because of the shape of the Air Cushioned grips, the throttle boss I had would not fit on there. I didnt spend a lot of time trying different options to make it work either. I was more concerned with riding. I just use the cruise a lot more now.

You can't beat them. I put mine on 2 years ago and 30,000 kM later they still look and feel as good as the day I put them on.

I must be old school, but I run leather wraps on the standard grips. They are a smiget warmer in the cold weather, definately cooler in hot weather, absorb sweat also run a clamp on throttle boss. I do like the idea of being able to roll my left hand on the grip for different cornering positions.

I have the Avon air cushion grips. Have had them on for about 6k miles (1yr). Look and feel as good as they did when I put them on. Have to admit, i was a little disappointed in them. Seemed like they would be a lot cushier than they are, more squeeze to them than they actually have. Don't get me wrong...a great improvement in looks and comfort over the stocks for me. Feel good with or without gloves and don't come off on your skin. Provide good grip when swerving to avoid startled moose.
