Default CAT Removed

Took the CAT out of my 11 Limited. Helped the heat considerably and made the stock exhaust sound great. Pretty east job if you know a welder.

Will this void the warranty on the engine?

I suppose it could, that's why I bought an extra head pipe from a forum member on here and gutted that one and kept my original with the CAT in it. Just in case I have a warranty issue.

It doesn't cool down the Catalytic Converter! But yes, I run synthetic.

I run Syn 3 and my right leg is still on fire somedays. I do have to couple in the fact that I live in South Texas, aka on the surface of the sun!

It makes a big difference dont' it? There is a lot of restriction there and if you ever saw the cat cut into you would wonder how they even run at all.

You do know SYN 3 is a synthetic blend, right? Not a true synthetic like Mobil 1 or Amsoil. You should see how blue in color the head pipe looked at the where the Cat is. Blue = lots of heat. Big difference with the CAT removed.

KCFLHTC, how much did you have to pay for the stock head pipe? That sounds like a good idea. Thanks

I think I paid $125 for the whole exhaust including mufflers. Local shop charged $20 to weld it and then about $5 for some high temp silver paint to cover welded area.
