Default Garage Door Opener Install Complete (PICS)
Not sure who would be interested in doing this or not but anyways here are a few pics of the garage door opener mod I did with a HD FLHX CVO electric bag lock (momentary) switch. A 12v 3 button Genie remote was used. Button 1 was soldered to switch and +/- is going to the cigarette lighter for a switched power source.

Well this is a Kick A$$ write up! Great idea and execution!

Think this can go in the DIY sticky also, so it doesn't get lost in other posts?

Not to hijack....but maybe someone else will remember. I know you did yours with a GENIE. I remember seeing one done in the same manner with a CHAMBERLAIN, which is what I have.

Anyone else remember???

I did the exact same mod with an Overhead Door brand remote which was 12 volt. If you want to do this mod with a remote that isn't 12 volt, either skip hooking it up to bike power and use a battery, or use a Radio Shack voltage step-down (cheap) to get from the bike's 12 volts to whatever your remote needs.
