I have the HD boom windshield unit and really like it. I wanted something that sounded good and looked like it belonged where it was placed which I think this one does both.

I am in Olmsted Falls and if you want to wait until its a little warmer out you could hear mine.

Here's a link to the system I had on my RK. I'll attach pics below as well. It stays attached to your windshield with a quick disconnect. It was priced right, looks great, and was TOP NOTCH quality and sound. I don't have any pics of it on the bike, but the web site does.

I would like to hear your system. That would be great. YES WHEN IT GETS WARMER. How could I get in touch with you?

I did the form-fitted earbud thing for a year, but didn't like it because it was either too loud at low speeds, or not loud enough at highway speeds. Adjusting the volume on an MP3 player tucked in your pocket is a PITA. Plus, I noticed wind noise as the wind blew across the bud as it was tucked in my ear.

The next year, I bought a set of Cycle Sound 3" handlebar mounted speakers (about $500). I looked at several options, but I wanted to still have tunes even if I wanted to ride without my windshield (which is rare). I got the chrome ones, and they look very nice, especially since my RK has the high-mounted tach. Putting them on the handlebars works well, as the sound kinda reflects off the windshield a little.

As everyone says, it's still difficult to hear at 70+ mph, but it's still a big improvement over wearing earbuds. I was thinking about adding saddlebag lid speakers, but I don't want to mess with my lids. I just bought a pair of vented lower fairings, and now I'm considering adding speakers to those and connecting them to the Cycle Sounds amp & speakers. That should make a huge difference!

Overall, I'm very happy with what I have. It's a Road King, not an ultra, and I like having the ability to ride without a fairing, or with a simple windscreen. I don't want any big black box mounted up there, obstructing my vision. For $500, the handlebar speakers from Cycle Sounds is a decent system. It will be more than enough for anything except extended highway trips. I wouldn't recommend anything smaller than 3" or anything that was $100-$200. You're wasting your money.
