Hey Guys I have a Screaming Eagle race tuner for my 07 SG but no software or cables to it. Tried to contact dealer that set it up to see if they had a map to my bike that was done back in Nov 06 I'm being told that map would be in the tuner but without the software/cables I'm screwed is this true or is there something I can do to retrivie it.
I don't believe you can retrieve a map even if you had the cables, but I could be wrong. The dealership that did the work not only intentionally kept the SERT cable and software that came in the kit that you paid for originally, but they the did not keep a record of the map they loaded, what exactly did you pay them for. I'd be looking for a new service department.
You don't get the cables and software with the tuner and your ecm map is in the tuner if it is the tuner married to your bike. Leave the thing alone if you don;t have any idea what is involved with the thing. This is probably why they don't sell the cable and software with the tuner
Cable/dongle MSRP is $69.95
Software MSRP is $30.
Training DVD is $30 (basically a must)
If your dealer saved the calibration it could probably be retrieved. If you didn't change anything (sounds like you didn't?), I still think it would be the map stored in your ECM....
You need to do more research on this site. You need to know what tuner you have and what capabilities it has. Is it a street or pro tuner. If you dealer said it is in the tuner then he is probably right. Research to see if you really need to get into it. If you make changes to your bike then you will need cables and the CD then you can retrieve it your self. I'm now just starting to get into it as over the winter I did many engine modifications
Hope that helps

I'm not sure of the year of the change, but the software and cable did come with the kit in the earlier models. I know my friend's SERT for his 07, same as OP, came with it. They don't include it in the kit anymore because they can sell it to you seperately, in addition to, simple profit margin.
