"Slam" is the noise the tire makes when it hits the fender.

Slammed just means it's "lowered" as far as the suspension will allow it to go! If you want to slam your bike on the cheap .. looks like the folks at www.dragginbaggers.com can fix you up.

I am wondering how it changes the handling of the bike. It would seem as though it would reduce the turning capacity. Also if I wanted it done but NOT on the cheap where do you go? I'm trying to figure the differance between what dragginbaggers and others would be...

I appreciate all the help and even enjoy the humor,....but I am curious

So Thanks All,

Greg (maltezebluez96)

I am a proponent of the 2.5" R.U.B. lowering kit ($75 on Ebay)- works fine on my 05 Ultra with 20# air - only hits the fender when two up ~ 500# load.

YOU GOTTA TRY IT.

And the handling is MUCH MUCH better with the center of gravity lower and further towards the rear. Both feet fully planted at all stops.

Could NEVER ride an unslammed bike again [X(] Even moved the tour pak back a couple inches too (Kuryakyn kit).

Only negative - might lose a couple thousand miles on your rear tire - more weight there = more wear there - naturally.
