true but no black & chrome engine...nice mods tho
Thanks Bryan, yea I had to work with what I had, I bought this bike from a salvage yard, it had bumped a dump truck just enough to bust front fairing and then fall over denting fender/tank and busting a saddlebag. Thanks to ebay, it made for a good winter project finding all the parts then I had a friend of mine Terry Southern Paint it, He did the Hank Young paint for one of the biker build offs lucky this was before he was"famous" LOL because now I can't afford his prices.

It will be a second bike, so I dont want a new one.
It won't be a second bike to the sporty, not for long anyway. A few rides on it and the sporty will be forgotten about

I am fine with that. I am not as fine with the $15-16K prices they sell for. I was looking for a older one..
That's why I bought a new RK last year. I didn't have to have a new model but to me there wasn't enough difference between a new model and a bike two years old to justify buying used. Now that I've made my purchase , I'm pleased with the resale value.

Yes, '06 was the first year...also the only year that any Street Glide's will ever have the 88-inch motor and the 5-speed tranny.

I dont know about this. Thats why I am going to keep both at least for a while. I have never ridden a touring bike. I have heard they ride much better but have a slower feeling accellerating (weight, wind resistance) compared to a Sporty 1200. Can anyone compare a 1200 sporty vs the 96 touring bike performance wise? I am thinking I will the use the SG on the highway and 2 up riding more and the sporty around town and to do wide open throtle runs...I love that part!

My son owns a XL1200C that I get on every chance I get. The Sporty doesn't suit me for my riding style of touring and two-up with my wife but if I could swing it, I'd have a Sporty for a second bike, no doubt about it. That is a fun ride.
