I took my bike in for the 20K service. When I picked it up the service tech told me that they repaired a leak in my primary at the shift shaft seal. He said that they also replaced the stator.
I rode this weekend and after about 400 miles, I noticed a loud humming sound. Kind of like a car with snow tires on it. I can hear the sound over the stereo speakers in my helmet.
The sound starts at about 70 mph and is a lot louder at 75mph. I also noticed that my volt meter is fluctuating between about 14.0 to 14.4v. It didn't ever fluctuate before the stator replacement.
Could the humming noise be related to the primary and the stator, or do think it's a coincidence that it started after the stator replacement?

Something isn't right. Pull the primary cover and make sure the chain tensioner is installed properly, and look for anything that might be rubbing against the compensator. Have you tried to pull up your diagnostic trouble codes? I don't have my electrical manual in front of me, but you can look up how to do that on the forum.
Soounds like they installed a faulty stator or something else in the charging system is bad. My voltmeter is rock steady. If you don't fix it quick you may take out the rest of your charging system.

I rode it for about 380 miles making this noise (had to get back home). The bike is still in warranty so it'll have to go back to the dealer for repairs.
