I ride about 99% alone and the rest with the wife. Not that I don't like riding with her , her health is bad and she doesn't feel like it most of the time. Might go Saturday though so that'll be good.

Darn near all riding is alone. Sometimes the wife is on the back, but she doesn't really like riding much so that's pretty rare. I really don't like riding with other bikes.

I will venture a guess at about 65% alone. I don't mind it at all, it is what I call my two wheel therapy.

Who knows what the actual percentages are but it's a given that I ride alone "way" more than I ride with others. I've made many 3+ week trips through the years all by myself. I've actually been challenged by well meaning friends (some riders, some not) on how and why I would do that and the answer is simple. Of the friends I have who ride, they either couldn't get that much time off at one sitting, or weren't inclined to making a ride of that magnitude. So.....I was faced with a decision to either go alone or not go at all. I chose to go! The upside to such a trip is that you're totally on your own schedule without having to worry about what someone else wants to do. You come and go, take whatever route you want, all at your own whim. The freedom of that is "wonderful!" On the downside, it's just nice having a good friend or SO that you can share the experience with.

I was able to make a 3 week trip with a friend back in 2000. We did a round robin of the western half of the US and had a blast. We had taken 4 to 6 day rides with other friends before but nothing of this magnitude. It also helped that he had never been anywhere in the western half of the country so even though most of the roads we took were one's that I'd ridden before, it was all brand new to him. That was one of the best trips I've taken and watching his reaction to everything we saw made it brand new for me too!

Ride Safe,
Steve R.

Outside of the commute, probably 80/20. My friends all have more entanglements...kids, babies, projects...than me, so I take a lot of rides on my own. If I head out with others, it is usually one of a group three buddies from work who ride.

So my question is this; What % of the time do you ride alone, and what % with others?
I would say I ride alone about 99% of the time. I don't care for big groups but I don't mind riding with 2 or 3 other riders.

Alone 100% unless I trust you other and we ride abreast, or I will just meet you at the other end.
