I stopped by the dealership and they looked up the 2 gauge kit in the accessory catalog. The kit includes the air temp sensor, the service guy says the sensor is on the left fairing upright. I dont recall seeing anything electrical on the upright so Im going to pull the outter fairing back off and see if I even have the sensor. Would have been nice if the gauges I bought had the senor with them, not like the guy who pulled them needs it now.

I had no idea there was a sensor. Never really thought about it. Let me know if you need it as I will be pulling apart my mother@#$%ing front end (again) this weekend thanks to some (alleged) Progressive monotube failure!! I'll pull off the sensor (assuming it's feasible) and send it to you.
You are correct, I don't need it and the bike'll probably be faster without it anyway.........right?
TexasSG if you can get it off I would appreciate it. Dealer wants $17, not a bank breaker but since he has to order it I have to wait anyway.
Its not a $ question on the oil temp gauge. I wanted silver faced gauges and I would like them to work.
So if I had the oil temp gauge what would that do for me?
Do those of you with oil temp gauges pull over and let the bike cool down when the oil hits a certain temp?
Im just saying....
There is/was a CVO softtail at Macon HD, $29,900, 110ci, and no oil cooler. You would think that for 30k HD could afford to stick an oil cooler on a 110ci air cooled engine.
