Default first Ultra

Got to ask this question to the guys that likes the Ultras. I have riden a fatboy for sometime now. My wife had back surgery and that caused us to look for something with a little comfort. I wanted a road king because I like to see whats in front of me and really have no use for radio and cb. But I posted earlier about getting a deal on an Ultra and we went that route. Question I want to ask is how do you listen to the radio? With the wind noise and etc? I wear a half helmet and still had a hard time hearing the radio. When I ride my fatboy, an Ipod and earphones was just the trip for me. I have a 550 Garmin with the XM and even with that hook up to the AUX radio it was almost worthless. What now? Hog tunes?

Their is an adjustment on the radio that will automaticaly increase the volume of the radio as you increase in speed. You will need to look it up in the manual. I have not had that problem with mine I can hear it just fine, I also wear a half helmet....

My radio, CB and CD player are all noticeably louder than when I plug a MP3 player in to the AUX port.
You can use headphones with the stock radio.

Don't have a manual but I did figure out what the AVC was. It was turned off. See if that helps. How do you use head phones on a stock radio other than the intercom hook up?

I am using these and they work well once you find a comfortable position. Also the they intercom feature is nice.

I have not had any issue with mine. I have the AVC set to 3 bars. I wear a half helmet and stock highth windshield. Also have the intercom headsets. Make sure speaker switch set to all four spearkers and scroll through the audio settings check the fade front to rear.

I don't know about others, but I can hear my stock radio / CD's just fine and I alway's wear a full face helmet! Usually I have my I-pod plugged into my auxillary port. Around town or on the highway, I can hear my music playing without any add on's or upgrades
to the stock system. Working around aircraft most of my life, my hearing is somewhat diminished too.
