Wouldn't you lose the flexibility of different foot positions over long rides with them? I know I frequently put my toe on my highway pegs and heel on the floorboards, which makes for a similar riding position.
They do look nice though.

I have them on my 2000 RK. Love the look, great quality, easy install. All in all a nice barhopper piece (which is what I was shooting for). For a bike that you are going to consistently be doing longer rides (300 mile+) I would stick w/ the floorboards.
The design of these could have been a little more forward. I am 6ft. and would have preferred them being 1-2" further forward. For what I use them for, commuting and lots of shorter rides I love em.
I have a 3600 mile ride planned at the end of the month and may end up hating them.......
