Does short antenna effect reception?

Default Does short antenna effect reception?
Anyone use the short antenna, either the HD antenna or the 9 or 14" antennas in the Drag Specialties catalog. Any problemw with reception? Looking for something shorter on a new SG. Thanks

I have the short HD antenna. No reception problems, but I'm in an urban area with a lot of radio stations. I'm guessing you give up something, but for my area it didn't hurt.

we have the J&M shorties and they look & work great!

I have antennaX shorties on mine and get good reception.

HD short antenna on my RG and I seem to still have excellent reception.

Um, okay then......

The '09 UC has a shorter antenae than previous years, I get great reception (on the radio)

Cut mine down, no problem at all..... don't have a CB..... If you have a CB don't cut it.
