Default Ignition steering wrench???

i took my fairing apart this weekend and had a heck of a time getting the ignition switch back together. Finally got it back and working. But does anybody use the wrench that is in the service book and how much is it? Also does it really work?

Long flat head screwdriver has worked for me and just used tape and marker to mark location.

Thank for the information. One of the guys in our local service department told me he thought it was $ 99.00. He must surely have been mistaken?

I machined one out of steel and yes they work very well. I think the cheapest and most clever homemade tool technique is just a piece of copper tubing slightly flatted, or find a piece of flat metal 3/16" X 7/16" for a near perfect fit.

Since you have to take out the ignition in the locked position I mark on the tape just like the switch points so I can put the screwdriver in and turn the ignition to whatever position I want to and so the bars didn't lock while I was working on it and was still able to put it back to lock position to reinstall switch. Make sense? Kinda just an indicator.

here is the copper tubing idea. I just used a screwdriver that fit instead.
